COVID-19 Information for National Emergency Training Center Students

Note: effective July 28, 2021, all Federal employees, onsite contractors, and visitors, regardless of vaccination status or level of COVID transmission in your local area, are required to wear a mask inside all DHS workspaces and Federal buildings.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency continues to monitor the guidance of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as it relates to COVID-19. To mitigate the spread of COVID-19, the CDC is encouraging organizations to promote social distancing, hold meetings via videoconferencing, reduce non-essential travel, and adjust or postpone events and gatherings. We also continue to evaluate the local and national situation and will provide regular updates.

Students will be notified in advance concerning the status of their on-campus course offering.

We thank you for your understanding, and we invite you to visit our extensive catalog of Independent Study Courses as well as classroom courses available by virtual delivery.

FEMA EM Higher Education Community Conference Calls

The Higher Education Community conference calls are an opportunity for the EMI Higher Education program to share updates as well as for the community to share information about projects, research, course development, achievements and challenges. There is a standing call in number for the monthly event- it is 1-800-320-4330 and the PIN to join is 376368. We try to host these calls on the third Friday of each month, but due to programmatic needs, we sometimes adjust the date. The call is held at 2:00-3:00 PM ET to provide a reasonable time for most of our program time zones.

All are welcome to join! If you have a specific topic or would like to share an update that will take more than 5 minutes, please contact the Higher Education Program Office at wendy.walsh@fema.dhs.gov. No formal notes of these calls are taken or posted, so please be mindful to capture the information needed during the calls.

Each call will loosely follow this agenda:

  • Roll Call by FEMA region
  • Update on recent activities of the Higher Education Program
  • Highlights of community resources & opportunities (this may include a specific presentation or topic)
  • Community updates & celebrations
  • Review of next call date & adjournment

Community Conference Call held at 2:00-3:00 PM- please call 1-800-320-4330 and the PIN to join is 376368:
