Emergency Management Institute and its Worldwide Reach
Historically, the outreach of FEMA’s Emergency Management Institute (EMI) has paid dividends for many international partners. From conducting a series of Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) Consequence Management Workshops and tabletop exercises in the Hashemite Kingdom of Amman, Jordan, to supporting the Defense Institute for Medical Operations (DIMO) program by pilot testing a Disaster Planner course in Brazzaville, Republic of the Congo, EMI Superintendents and staff have traveled to all reaches of the globe. Over the years, EMI has hosted almost 600 international colleagues from 52 countries at its campus classes in Emmitsburg, Maryland.
