Preliminary Damage Assessment Course Transitions to Virtual Format
The Federal Emergency Management Agency's E-1163 Preliminary Damage Assessment for State, Tribal, Territorial and Local Officials course will now be delivered virtually as K-1163.
The three-day virtual course runs July 15-17, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Pacific time. The schedule accommodates participants across all U.S. time zones.
This comprehensive training provides state, tribal, territorial and local government personnel with essential knowledge for conducting joint preliminary damage assessments with FEMA. Participants will learn about roles and responsibilities in the PDA process, information collection procedures, damage assessment methodologies and the disaster declaration process. The course prepares officials to effectively participate in joint PDAs following disasters and is open to all interested personnel responsible for damage assessment activities in their jurisdictions.
Registration is now open. For questions about the course or registration process, contact FEMA National Disaster and Emergency Management University Response and Recovery.
