Delivering valuable training to the professional and volunteer emergency management community

The Independent Study Program (ISP) is an online distance learning program offered through NDEMU to those with emergency management responsibilities and the general public. It serves as both an alternate means to deliver valuable training to the professional and volunteer emergency management community, and an opportunity to improve public awareness & promote disaster preparedness nationally. Independent Study courses are structured to meet the needs of this diverse audience with an emphasis on how the various elements work together in emergencies to save lives and protect property.

The ISP courses are evaluated and awarded Continuing Education Units (CEUs) in accordance with the standards established by the International Association of Continuing Education and Training (IACET). The number of CEUs for each course is listed in the course catalog.
