Course Overview

The purpose of this course is to provide Federal personnel with responsibilities for security-related policies, programs, projects, and/or operations for their department or agency an overview of the process to determine the Facility Security Level (FSL) for a Federal facility and how that FSL is used to determine a Baseline Level of Protection (LOP). The learner must achieve a minimum passing score of 75% on final knowledge assessments or demonstrate mastery on performance assessments or research assignments to earn the IACET CEU.

Course Objectives:

  • Describe and apply the FSL determination methodology to a federal facility
  • Define the Facility Security Level and security evaluation factors
  • Identify when an FSL determination is required and who is responsible for the final determination
  • Describe how to use the FSL to determine a Baseline Level of Protection

Executives, Managers, and any personnel involved in making facility funding, leasing, security, or other risk management decisions.

Recommended: IS 1170, Introduction to the Interagency Security Committee; and IS 1171, Overview of ISC Publications
