In addition to carrying out the NEHRP goals, earthquake coordinators should work toward the following program priorities for seismic safety:
- Increasing earthquake awareness
- Promoting preparedness and mitigation
- Encouraging training
- Reducing risk
- Improving emergency response plans
- Evaluating local codes
