Course Overview
The course is an online, self-guided training. The goal is to provide an overview of the requirements for local hazard mitigation plans that are found in the Local Mitigation Planning Policy Guide (2022). The Local Mitigation Planning Policy Guide is FEMA’s official policy on, and interpretation of, local hazard mitigation planning requirements set in 44 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 201. The learner must achieve a minimum passing score of 75% on final knowledge assessments or demonstrate mastery on performance assessments or research assignments to earn the IACET CEU
Course Objectives:
- Explain the purpose and intent of local hazard mitigation planning.
- Identify the three guiding principles that are used in plan review.
- Describe the requirements for local hazard mitigation review.
- Describe the requirements for local hazard mitigation plans.
- Describe the plan review and approval procedures for local mitigation plans.
