The Federal Emergency Management Agency continues to monitor the guidance of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as it relates to COVID-19. To mitigate the spread of COVID-19, the CDC is encouraging organizations to promote social distancing, hold meetings via videoconferencing, reduce non-essential travel, and adjust or postpone events and gatherings. We also continue to evaluate the local and national situation and will provide regular updates.

Students will be notified in advance concerning the status of their on-campus course offering.

We thank you for your understanding, and we invite you to visit our extensive catalog of Independent Study Courses as well as classroom courses available by virtual delivery.

We will be performing scheduled maintenance on Thursday, October 29, 2020 at 7:00 AM EDT. Service is expected to be restored by 10:00 AM EDT. However, this could run over. During this time Independent Study exams will not be available. Please contact us if you experience any issues outside of this maintenance window.

Regional Collaboration Engagements

Regional academic collaborative events are designed to build awareness, capture successful regional practices of collaboration with faculty, students and researchers working with emergency management practitioners as well as to identify untapped opportunities. The desired outcome is to support regional community connection and collaboration as well as create a dynamic regional specific report to identify academic resources, capabilities and expertise to support on-going regional academic and practitioner partnership. To date we have hosted engagements in all ten FEMA regions and are returning for follow up engagements. To learn what’s happened in your Region or explore what’s happening in other regions please browse the reports below. If you are interested in learning more or want to be more involved in your region’s emergency management higher education collaboration, please contact the FEMA Higher Education Program Manager, Wendy Walsh at
