IS-800.a National Response Plan (NRP), An Introduction

Course Overview

The National Response Plan, or NRP, describes how the Federal Government will work in concert with State, local, and tribal governments and the private sector to respond to disasters.

Course Objectives

  1. Describe the purpose of the NRP
  2. Locate information within the NRP
  3. Describe the roles and responsibilities of entities as specified in the NRP
  4. Identify the organizational structure used for NRP coordination
  5. Describe the field-level organizations and teams activated under the NRP
  6. Identify the incident management activities addressed by the NRP

Primary Audience

This course introduces the NRP.  It is intended for DHS and other Federal staff responsible for implementing the NRP, and Tribal, State, local and private sector emergency management professionals.
